DESCRIPTION:This lavalava is 44 in. X 72 in. A 2 to 3 yd. length of cloth used as a wrap and tie, or wrap and belt garment for men and women. ”Lavalava” is the Samoan word for this piece of fabric. In Hawaii, it is sometimes called, pa’u, kikepa, or pareau. It is also used as a bundle wrap, a beach mat, a curtain, a bed cover, or a flag.
